FAQS
Questions about therapy?
-
My office is in the Minneapolis Uptown area, and I provide online therapy to anyone in Minnesota.
-
Yes, I do offer in-person sessions.
-
I do not accept insurance.
Insurance companies require me to diagnose clients, and then often dictate the number of sessions a client can meet with me based on said diagnosis. While I don’t accept insurance, I do work with a company called Mentaya. Mentaya works to submit your claims to your insurance provider to assist with reimbursement for using OON benefits.
Many insurance plans will reimburse clients either partially or fully for therapy sessions, you just need to call your provider to check your out-of-network benefits. To save yourself some time, you can use the benefits checker below to see if your insurance provides OON benefits. If you qualify for reimbursement I can send a claim for you to your insurance company and you will be reimbursed.
I have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services.

Do I have out-of-network coverage for psychotherapy? (They might ask you for the medical billing code, which is 90837 for a 50-minute individual therapy session).
Is prior authorization needed?
Is there a deductible? If so, how much of my deductible has already been met?
What is the calendar year for my deductible?
Am I limited on how many times I can see my therapist within the year?
How much will I be reimbursed for?
What is the process for submitting for reimbursement? What paperwork needs to be completed and where do I send this to?

60-minute Individual Session: $175
I am always willing to discuss fees with clients who feel they cannot afford the full fee.
Since I do not take insurance, I do reserve several reduced fee spaces in my practice. In my experience clients are transparent about their financial situation and those who can pay the full fee, do, which allows me to offer my reduced rate to those who might otherwise not be able to participate in therapy. While I don’t accept insurance, I do accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) payments.

Not normally, I will do group sessions with partners and family should there be a need at the request of the client.
-
I am not a huge proponent of labels, so I’ll skip the clinical jargon and say that I’m deeply rooted in collaboration and relational experiences. Most of us have had the displeasure of toxic, harmful or unfulfilling relationships, I try to model what healthy, intimate attachment and connection can look like as we learn to relate to each other.
-
You can click on the contact tab and submit a request for a free 15-minute consultation.
-
I request a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to cancel your appointment. If you do not cancel your appointment at least 24 hours ahead of time or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full session fee. This is to ensure that I can offer services to others if you cannot attend.

Therapy is serious business and I do not take this journey you’re exploring lightly. The truth is “I’m not for everyone” and that’s ok. Like any relationship compatibility is key and you get to have exactly what you want.
